Privacy policy

The short version

• RentShepherd has not launched. The only personal information this website collects is what you choose to type into the early access form: your name, your email address, and the size of your portfolio.
• This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers.
• We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.
• There is no RentShepherd account, no payment, and no tenant data — none of that exists yet.

What we collect

Everything below comes from the early access form on the home page. If you do not submit that form, we collect nothing about you beyond the ordinary web-server request logs kept by our host.

• Name — so we can address you properly when we write.
• Email address — so we can tell you when access opens.
• Portfolio size — a range you pick from a list (for example “4–12” or “Property management company”), so we know which plans and features to prioritise.
• Technical details recorded automatically with each submission by our forms provider: your IP address, your browser’s user-agent string, and the page you submitted from. These are used for spam filtering.

That is the complete list. The form also contains one hidden anti-spam field; it is invisible to you and a human visitor leaves it empty. We do not ask for, and have no way to receive, your phone number, your address, your property addresses, your tenants’ details, or any payment information.

Who else handles it

We use three outside services, and no others. There is no CRM, no email marketing platform, and no advertising network behind this site.

• Netlify hosts this website and stores the form submissions. Its servers are in the United States.
• ntfy.sh delivers a push notification containing the details you submitted to an unlisted topic, so the person running RentShepherd sees new sign-ups on their phone.
• Google Fonts supplies the two typefaces every page uses. Your browser fetches them from Google’s servers, which tells Google your IP address and which page requested them. No cookie is set by that request and we receive nothing back from Google.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no cookies of its own, and nothing is stored in your browser between visits.

No analytics currently run. The page source contains an analytics tag that is deliberately switched off with a placeholder ID: it loads nothing and sends nothing anywhere. If we ever turn it on, we will describe it here and change the date at the top of this page.

Email we will send you

If you join the early access list, we will email you about RentShepherd — when access opens, and occasionally about the product before then. That is all. We will not pass your address to anyone else to email you, and we will not rent or sell the list. Ask us to take you off and we will, with no argument.

How long we keep it

We keep your early access details until access opens and for a reasonable period afterwards, or until you ask us to delete them — whichever comes first.

Your choices and your rights

Email leads@stylemarking.com at any time to see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. We will action a deletion request and confirm when it is done.

If you are in the UK, EU or EEA

Our lawful basis for holding your early access details is your consent, given when you submit the form. You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing us, and doing so does not affect anything done before you withdrew it. You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to our processing of your data, and the right to data portability. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

RentShepherd is operated from the United States and the services listed above store data there, so submitting the form transfers your details to the United States.

If you are in California

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are used in the CCPA and CPRA, and we have not done so in the past twelve months. You may email us to exercise your rights to know and to delete.

Tenant data

The product we are building would handle information about tenants on a landlord’s behalf. That product is not operating, so we hold no tenant data of any kind today. Before launch we will publish terms setting out how tenant information is handled and what each side is responsible for. Nothing on this page should be read as a description of a live tenant-data service, because there isn’t one.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, so what you type into the form is encrypted in transit. Submissions are then held by our forms provider under its own security controls. No system is perfectly secure, and we make no claim that ours is.

Children

This site is aimed at landlords and property managers. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change, we will update this page and change the “last updated” date at the top. Because the product has not launched, we expect this page to change before it does.
